We review the elements of Programming and Space Planning, including any design styles, decor, and period influences that can provide inspiration and focus. As visual concepts begin to take shape we help the design team identify opportunities to explore, such as daylighting, and even potential pitfalls to avoid. This ensures that the proper lighting goals are identified and a focused design path is initiated. We also perform existing site reviews and light level surveys whenever necessary to better understand existing conditions and needs - both functional and aesthetic.
Using AutoCAD 2007, we provide organized lighting layers in NCS format for the architectural and electrical plans as required. We develop RCPs complete with fixture symbols, labeling, zoning, annotation, dimensioning, and any necessary construction details, elevations, and sections. Drawings are e-Transmit bound and distributed to ensure xref attachement and readability to all parties, and can also be provided in size D plots. Full specifications and schedules for all fixtures, lamps, along with control schematics and specifications are assembled and distributed via bound specification booklet and PDF for team distribution. We also assist the engineer with IECC and LEED compliance, and COM CHECK reports for energy efficiency verification.
Construction Administration
We answer all RFI throughout the project and will be there for final on-site commissioning and checklist review. We will review contractor submittals and provide VE consultation to ensure design integrity and value.

We provide a variety of imaging and narrative methods to convey developing lighting concepts, from unique "light painting" over renderings or photographs, to photo-realistic 3D modeling and rendering. These efforts are supported with reliable in-house photometric analysis that includes spill light and glare analysis, and illuminance calculations for both electrical sources and daylighting contributions. When desired, custom fixtures can be designed, rendered, and submitted for budgeting and structural review to qualified fabricators. Schedules for fixtures and dimming controls are developed that include all specification information for lamps, ballasts, and even purchasing responsibility.
