Maria Bio

Maria is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the George Washington University Interior Design Program, and has a background in both residential and commercial interior design. She started her career working on high-end residential projects in Great Falls and McLean area in Virginia, and gradually became involved with commercial hospitality design with the Carlyle Group and Ritz Carlton Residences.

She has experience with all stages of an interior design process – from concept development to installation, and is always glad to advise the client on any issues, including conceptual design, space planning, FF&E selection and more. Maria employs her knowledge of interior design principles in order to create dynamic and successful lighting schemes. She has always had a keen interest in lighting, and was eager to explore a career opportunity in this field when she saw one.

She enjoys various hand-rendering techniques as well as computer graphics, and her works have been published in national magazines, including Washington Spaces. She is proficient in various production software, including AutoCAD, AGI 32, Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp.

She is originally from Russia and often takes inspiration from its historic and cultural tradition, especially the architecture of Saint Petersburg, also called “Northern Venice” for its beauty. She has given up a career in civil law in order to pursue design and has never regretted it once.
